〈Roses in Flux : 흐르는 장미〉는 동양 수묵화의 번짐과 여백에서 출발해,
서양의 재료인 유화와 아크릴로 검은 장미를 그린 연작이다.
물과 기름처럼 쉽게 섞이지 않는 재료들은 중력에 따라 흐르고 스며들며 화면 위에 흔적을 남긴다. 이 과정은 동양과 서양, 서로 다른 방식들이 하나의 화면 안에서 만나는 모습을 보여준다.
전통적인 캔버스 대신 사용하는 실크는 얇고 비치며, 작은 움직임에도 민감하게 반응하는 표면이다.
물감은 이 위에서 완전히 고정되지 않고 흐르거나 번지며 예상하지 못한 형태로 남는다.

〈Roses in Flux〉 is a series that begins with the washes and empty space of East Asian ink painting,
and continues through black roses painted with oil and acrylic.
Materials that do not easily mix, such as water and oil,
flow and seep under gravity, leaving traces on the surface.
These traces mark a meeting point between different ways of painting.
The artist uses silk instead of a traditional canvas.
Thin and translucent, silk does not hold paint firmly.
Paint moves, spreads, and settles in unexpected forms.
Here, completion is not a final end,
but a moment within ongoing movement.
The black rose is not a fixed symbol,
but a changing trace—
a quiet beauty that remains in its incomplete state.
